BT London 2012
What a summer for Team GB and ParalympicsGB! First came the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, and as Team GB notched up medal after medal the nation was in a frenzy of excitement about the Games and the success of our athletes. When it came to the Closing Ceremony on 24 August Team GB’s success had exceeded all expectations with a final medal tally of 47 medals. Of these, 19 were gold - a fifth of these were won by BT’s Ambassadors for London 2012, Chris Hoy and Ben Ainslie.
Following the success of Team GB, the ParalympicsGB team has achieved even greater success during the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games, which kicked off in spectacular fashion with an Opening Ceremony on 6 September. Great Britain had been expected to do extremely well and ParalympicsGB certainly didn't disappoint. The athletes are bringing home a staggering 102 medals, including 42 golds.
Well done to Team GB and ParalympicsGB on their outstanding performances in Beijing.

And while 2012 may seem a long way off, the work starts now. In fact it’s started already.
As Official Communications Services Partner for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, we’re setting out on a five year journey.

In short, we will help take the London 2012 Games to the world and will bring the world to London.
We’re doing it because we are firm believers in the Olympic ideal. We’ve been long-term supporters of many related bodies and initiatives, including:

- Education initiatives
- Arts and culture
By supplying the communications infrastructure, by supporting athletes, and by being an active, determined sustainability partner, we will make a world of difference to London 2012.
