
Why we run it: We need high calibre people to take our business forward so it can achieve its goals. The Fast Track Leadership Programme brings people into middle management roles, develops their potential and opens a pathway to the highest levels of management.
Who is eligible: A 2:1 degree or similar plus a proven track record in leading people, project management and organisational change within a commercial environment. The 2:1 can be waived where there is evidence of further study (e.g. MBA). The programme is designed to give people a unique opportunity to really stretch themselves by working across a range of different assignments and work functions.
What it involves: Broadening skills, knowledge and experience by spending the first two years rotating around Openreach, BT Operate and BT Wholesale’s business units, carrying out a series of challenging projects and roles. Each project will last around 9 to 12 months, followed by a performance and objective review. The third year will see people in a more permanent role in the organisation, achieved by using the network of contacts they have built up.
