Life at BT goes beyond the office

The Graduate programme allows graduates to fullfil their professional and personal goals

Graduates on a mountain trekFrom trekking in the Himalayas for charity to volunteering at local primary schools, graduates get ‘extra-curricular’ at BT.

Work hard and play hard

Graduates at AscotSome of our BT graduates arranged a knowledge-sharing and networking event recently at Imperial College and Royal Ascot. Designed to show what graduates can achieve within BT, the idea started as an idle conversation, but soon became an impressive all-day event filled with guest speakers, horse races and singing around the bandstand!

As the official communications provider for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, BT’s graduate community is already actively involved. In the run up to the Games, there’ll be many ways for BT graduates and staff right across the business to play their part in the greatest and most exciting show on earth.

Graduates dressed up for ChildlineGraduates and apprentices recently teamed up to trek through the Himalayas, each pledging to raise £2,500 for Childline. After five gruelling days of blood, sweat and tears, the trek was finished and everyone involved agreed it had been a unique and humbling experience for a very worthwhile cause.

Graduates in a schoolEach year, many graduates sign up to the BT Volunteering scheme. This involves attending sessions at local schools to run workshops that aim to equip students with the skills they need to be effective communicators. The scheme is just one more example of BT’s commitment to its CSR activities within the community, and a great way for students to learn valuable lessons in communication.
