Our application process is thorough and designed to identify those people who will be most suited to a career with BT. Our recruitment programme is run in partnership with a leading specialist in MBA selection and assessment, and our own HR teams remain actively involved at every stage, from setting recruitment criteria through to making hiring decisions.
There are a number of methods we use to find the best candidates. They include business school presentations, our website and head-hunting - and every application is treated the same, wherever it originates from.
Your application will first be reviewed to evaluate whether you meet the minimum criteria (see below) and have the right experience, skills and technical aptitude. The entire content of your application will be taken into account, including any CV supplement you supply to provide further details.
Each of our MBA opportunities will have selection criteria which are specific to the role, however, the following minimum entry criteria apply to all of our MBA roles:
Strong Academic Background
Attained an MBA with up to date knowledge of current MBA theory or thinking or graduating from an MBA by September 2008
Significant proven management experience with
Evidence of promotion/upward movement or of a growing team (in business or start-up environment)
Evidence of significant responsibility in previous roles - e.g. budgetary, project responsibility, team management etc.
If your application is selected, you will be invited to participate ina round one interview to assess your general ability and aptitude for the role. If you are successful at this stage you will be invited to a second, more in-depth interview. This interview will be competency/behaviour based and designed to evaluate in more detail your fit for the role. If successful at this point, you will then be invited to attend an assessment centre. This will include:
During the assessment centre you will meetwith senior BT managers from thebusiness units, HR professionals and current members of the MBA team.
A decision whether to offer you a position will be made shortly afterwards.
BT will apply for a sponsored work permit on your behalf, subject to you providing all of the necessary and valid documents and information. After a period of 2 years, you will be expected to apply for Tier 1 (General Highly Skilled Migrant) status.
