We offer two types of placement:
Summer Placements - 2 to 4 months
Industrial Placements - 6 or 12 months
Our placements are designed for undergraduates in the penultimate year of their degree, with some opportunities for postgraduates.
When applying for an undergraduate position online, you must first select the stream that best suits your career aspirations, your subject of study and your skills, so we can find a suitable project for you. Please note that the greatest numbers of opportunities are in the Professional Services and ICT and Research streams, and there are more opportunities for students looking for an Industrial Placement.
Our business management stream, where roles on projects include project management, business improvement and management consultancy.
Our technical stream, with projects that include software development, research and network engineering.
This stream allows you to gain experience in one of three areas - Human Resources, Marketing or Procurement.
Our people and customers stream, where projects range from customer service management to business development.
Once you've selected a stream, we'll look at your skills and study subject to find a project within that stream which we feel best suits you. The exception is the Functional Specialist stream where you apply for a project within a specific business area.
We'll make sure that you get all the support you need to make a real difference to your project and support any academic requirements of your placement.
As BT is a flexible organisation with opportunities across the UK and Ireland, we also ask you to select up to three locations where you'd be happy to work.
