New Ideas scheme in demand

New Ideas scheme in demandBT's New Ideas scheme has been so successful over the past two years that it is to be offered outside the company as part of an innovation consultancy service.

Since its re-launch in 2005, the New Ideas scheme has resulted in numerous suggestions from employees being converted into revenue opportunities, cost savings, or improvements to the working environment at BT.

As a result, some of BT's corporate customers have begun asking the team behind the scheme whether they can help embed this kind of innovation process into their organisations.

Gordon Wright, innovation consultant with Group CTO, says: "Companies are looking for more than just ideas, they are looking for the tools to transform their culture as well. BT is recognised as an innovation leader, and there has been a lot of outside interest in what has been done. As the fish are jumping into the boat, we would be mad to pass up the opportunity."

The innovation consultancy service will be offered primarily to BT partners and corporate customers. It is a natural fit where the company is already delivering IT or networking consultancy services, for example.
