BT Community Connections

BT Community Connections enables community and voluntary groups throughout the UK to get online and make use of information and communication technology (ICT). Started in 2000, the scheme offers organisations the opportunity to apply for a multi-media internet-ready PC and a contribution towards a year's broadband internet access through BT Total Broadband.

To date the scheme has:

• Benefited an estimated six million people directly and indirectly
• Enabled over 5,000 groups to get online including silver surfers, playgroups, cultural groups, local environmental initiatives and youth sports organisations
• Won a prestigious Business in the Community Awards for Excellence ‘BIG TICK', received a ‘Highly Commended' in the ‘Healthy Communities' category at BITC's National Awards and won both the European Sponsorship ‘Business to Community’ category and the ‘Overall Sponsorship Award’
